Rolex returns as title sponsor for 70th anniversary British Grand Prix

The 70th edition of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone will feature prestigious watch brand Rolex as a title partner, once again putting the timepiece in the spotlight on the racing circuit.

Rolex has been involved in
sponsoring F1 events for several years now and the firm has stepped up to the plate for the race that takes place on July 6-8. The brand is the official timekeeper for the full F1 season and its advertisements can be seen on every racetrack on the global circuit, but the British Grand Prix is only one of a few races where Rolex takes on the role of title sponsor.

A great opportunity for extra coverage

This year’s British Grand Prix is guaranteed to attract even more attention than usual, as it’s the 70th anniversary of the opening of the famous Silverstone circuit, and there will be several celebratory events and parades to mark the milestone.

Those lucky enough to be in the F1 Paddock Club in Britain (https://edgeglobalevents.com/f1-paddock-club/britain/) will have front row seats, while those not there in person will still be able to catch much of the action on TV and online. For Rolex, having title sponsorship means plenty of exposure, and the brand is sure to get its money’s worth, as fans from all over the world tune in.

A tradition of excellence

Several F1 figureheads have voiced their pleasure at Rolex being a title sponsor for such a prestigious event and Sir Jackie Stewart, a 3 time champion will be reunited with his 1969 Matra MS80 for the Grand Prix. Stewart has been a Rolex advocate for a whopping 50 years and says that the brand and the sport are linked by a rich history and unwavering attention to detail – making them the perfect pair. Stewart has said that he feels honoured to be part of the Rolex family, having enjoyed a fantastic journey so far, and looking forward to many more.

Another Rolex testimonee and 2016 world champion, Nico Rosenberg, has also expressed his delight at the watch brand being the title sponsor of such an important British Grand Prix. Rosenberg has said that he is looking forward to this year’s race as one of the Rolex family and he cannot wait to soak up the amazing atmosphere at Silverstone.
